TJ Sokol SDS Exmost Modřice has become the best futnet club in the world for the third time in the history, beating NK DPMK Košice 2:0 in the final.
Korean Seshin Buffalo managed to keep up with Sokol Modřice only in the first set of the semifinal, they made a few mistakes in the ending of the set and were not in good playing mood till the end of the match. Smaller Korean players had a very difficult situation against one of the best triples in the world – Müller, Pospíšil, Rosenberk and team from South Moravia advanced to the final without any slip-ups.
The semifinals started with the duel between Slovak champion NK DPMK Košice and Kaposvár. Even though Košice won 2:0, it was a very tight and thrilling match till the very end, which is confirmed by the total score 57:52. Hungary played excellent in the field and they defended powerful smashes of Slovaks several times. However, the Slovaks were better in the endings of sets and thus deservedly advanced to the match for the final victory in Club World Cup.
The final matach started with duel of home double Radek Pelikán and Jakub Mrákava against Martin Dubovan and Branislav Belko, playing for Košice. Players of Sokol Modřice kept cool mind and had no problem beating their competitors in a two-set battle, which resulted in home team taking the lead 1:0.
Müller, Pospíšil and Rosenberk played against DPMK’s triple Havrila, Belko and Siladi. Modřice performed excellent futnet same as throughout the whole tournament and won in two sets 11:7 and 11:6, which was the ignition of great celebrations of their great victory.
